Modernization of a Steam Capper

The client aimed to modernize a steam capper dating back to the 1960s in order to improve its performance and reliability, while ensuring compliance with current standards.

Mandate

The scope of this project was part of an overall modernization initiative aimed at improving the reliability and long-term sustainability of the equipment. This included upgrading existing systems, reconstructing previously unavailable technical documentation, and preparing the installation for safe and efficient long-term operation.

Task performed

o Ensure project follow-up and coordination with the client throughout the work
o Supervise the electrical contractor’s activities to ensure the quality of the work performed
o Conduct risk analysis and define safety functions using functional descriptions and appropriate diagrams
o Upgrade the machine to ensure compliance with current standards
o Implement safety protocols and prepare the required validation reports
o Develop network and electrical plans required for the integration of modernized systems
o Perform PLC / MHI programming and programming and integration to ensure control of the modernized machine
o Program safety functions in accordance with operational and regulatory requirements
