Roles and responsibilities

The application engineer has the following responsibilities:

• Technical analysis of customer needs and development of customised robotic solutions;
• Design of system architectures based on a high-level understanding of industrial environments;
• Conceptualisation of robotic cells tailored to customer needs;
• Explaining technical concepts to customers, sales teams and non-technical stakeholders;
• Drafting technical proposals, including diagrams, simulations and performance estimates;
• Providing technical support to sales, participating in demonstrations and presentations, and responding to calls for tenders;

• Structured transfer of technical files to project teams, with complete documentation and implementation recommendations.

Qualifications

The position requires the following qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in robotics engineering, mechanical engineering, automated production engineering, electrical engineering or a related field;
•A minimum of 10 years of experience
oRobotics projects or similar position in robotics projects in manufacturing, industrial robotics applications;
•Experience in application engineering, technical pre-sales or solution design;
•Member of the Order of Engineers – an asset;
•Fluency in French and functional English.

Specific requirements

The position requires the following:
•System vision and ability to model complex robotic architectures;
•Excellent ability to synthesise, communicate technically and explain complex concepts in simple terms;
•High-level cost estimation;
•Modelling and simulation of system characteristics: cadence, material flow;
•Knowledge of machine safety applied to robotics.
•Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks
•Knowledge of Fanuc Roboguide
•Knowledge of the main manufacturers and standards in the sector
•Analytical mind, rigour, customer service skills and autonomy in improving internal tools
•Knowledge of project management
•Knowledge of industrial engineering and lean manufacturing
•Knowledge of MES, control and SCADA
•Sense of innovation and creativity
•Overview of manufacturing systems and robotics
