SUMMARY

The project manager's role is to successfully complete medium- to large-scale projects. In this role, they assess, plan, execute, and monitor priorities for the entire project cycle. They must mobilize a multidisciplinary project team and ensure contractual management of projects as well as relations with internal and external stakeholders. They are responsible for ensuring the project meets its budget and schedule. They are also able to manage project portfolios.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The project manager has the following responsibilities:

Projects (90 %):

Ensure the management of its projects in compliance with the processes and methods established by the PMO:

  • Define needs, in collaboration with the client;
    • Ensure that the service offering meets the client's needs and PCI's expectations, regarding technical aspects, timelines, and budgets;
  • Establish a team, in collaboration with the discipline managers;
  • Implement communication and project monitoring tools;
  • In the case of a project portfolio, plan projects and assign project managers to the various projects.
  • Organize and lead project meetings;
    • Conduct the project kickoff meeting with all team members;
    • Organize meetings to monitor project progress with the team;
  • Responsible for client relations on their projects;
    • Inform the client of progress, changes, and challenges associated with the project;
    • Ensure that the client meets its deliverables within the agreed upon timeline;
  • Provide after-sales service to the client and be on the lookout for new project opportunities with their clients;
  • Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with the schedule, budget, and quality;
    • Identify and document elements that are outside the scope of the mandate, assess their impact (financial and schedule), and notify the client;
    • Promptly report all current or anticipated issues to the PMO;
  • Follow up with other project managers responsible for the client portfolio
  • Approve the timesheets and expenses for their projects on a weekly basis;
  • Generate invoices and follow up on them.

Internal Coordination (10%):

  • Participate in internal department meetings;
  • Keep the account manager informed of project progress and challenges related to the project and the client;
  • Participate in preparing service offers in collaboration with the technical teams and sales teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

The position requires the following qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience;
  • At least 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in industrial automation and at least 5 years in project management.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

The position requires the following:

  • Advanced written and spoken proficiency in English and French;
  • Driver’s license is an asset, as the role may require travel.
