Project manager in robotics

SUMMARY

The robotics project manager's role is to carry out small or medium scaled projects. He coordinates a multidisciplinary project team and ensures the technical and contractual management of the projects and, according to his level of confidence, the management of the relationship with the customer. He participates in planning, organizing, executing, controlling and evaluating projects from start to finish. He is responsible for ensuring the project meets its budget and schedule. Depending on the size of the project, he contributes to its technical development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following list summarizes the tasks associated with this position:

  • Ensure the management of his projects in compliance with the processes and methods established by the PMO;
  • Define needs, in collaboration with the client and PCI technical teams;
  • Follow the progress of your projects to ensure that the schedule and the budget are respected;
  • Assemble a team, in collaboration with the heads of discipline;
  • Implement communications and project monitoring tools;
  • Organize and lead project meetings;
  • Accountable for the customer relationship of its projects;
  • Provide after-sales service to the customer and be on the lookout for new project opportunities with customers;
  • Participate in technical execution (programming, electrical design, commissioning, etc.), while respecting project management obligations;
  • Perform any other related tasks related to this description

QUALIFICATIONS

The chosen candidate will have the following knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the automation and manufacturing environment/ robotics including 5 years in project management
  • Have leadership, judgment, rigor and good work organization;
  • Advanced French and English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to build relationships and show good interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills;
  • Excellent capacity to negotiate under pressure
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

The position requires the following requirements:
  • Good knowledge of robotic systems in an industrial environment;
    • Robotic systems;
    • Conveyor lines and packaging equipment;
    • Food processes;
  • Knowledge of industrial automation ;
  • Good knowledge of robot programming (ABB, Fanuc, etc.);
  • Knowledge of various industries—an asset;
  • Ability to write technical documents;
  • Availability to travel internationally;
*The future employee will need to demonstrate flexibility when it comes to traveling within Quebec, the rest of Canada, or internationally.
