Bottling line for drinkable yogourt

Context

The customer wished to increase the production capacity for one of its products. They already had a similar bottling line in operation, but it was already used at more than 100% capacity.
To reach the production goals, the existing line had to operate weekends as well, which is unusual for this plant.

Mandate

To satisfy the customer’s needs, PCI performed the
following tasks:
o Design of the control system, the electrical distribution and
the Ethernet network
o Design of the controls panels for the process control and the
conveyor lines
o Factory acceptance tests (FAT) at the original equipment
manufacturer (OEM) sites
o Integration of the machines into a coherent bottling line
o Programming of the filling process
o Validation of the machine safety circuits of the machines
and line
o 24/7 Support

o Rockwell ControlLogix / Factory Talk View ME architecture
o GuardLogix processors and Safety Point I/O
o Motion control using Kinetix 5500 servo drives
