Electrical Engineer
Summary
The electrical engineer is responsible for performing the electrical design work required for industrial automation projects. Based on the specifications provided by the project manager, they must generate the electrical plans and supporting documents necessary for the manufacture and installation of control panels. They must ensure compliance with the various standards and regulations governing electrical design.
The electrical engineer is responsible for performing the electrical design work required for industrial automation projects. Roles and responsibilities
The electrical engineer has the following responsibilities:
- Validating the control components selected with the project manager (PLC model, industrial network, etc.).
- Calculating short-circuit currents and performing arc flash analysis.
- Validating the project's electrical specifications (country, supply voltage, frequency, etc.).
- Calculating and documenting electrical loads, heat dissipation, etc.
- Determining the necessary electrical protection systems.
- Ensuring that the design complies with the various standards and regulations in force.
- Creating electrical drawings (distribution, control, layout, etc.) using See Electrical or other CAD software.
- Signing and sealing plans.
- Communicating with other team members, both internal and external.
- Supporting the commissioning team at the customer's site when necessary.
- Taking measurements on site when necessary.
Qualifications
The position requires the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automated production engineering or other related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of expertise
- Member of the Order of Engineers (Eng.)
Specific requirements
The position requires the following:
- Functional French and English
- Knowledge of standards and regulations governing electrical design;
- Knowledge of at least one electrical design CAD software program;
- Be a good collaborator and skilled in teamwork;
- Must be meticulous and rigorous;
- Ability to manage multiple files at the same time and meet deadlines.
