Electrical Engineer

SUMMARY

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for carrying out the electrical design work required for industrial automation projects. Based on the specifications provided by the project manager, he must generate the electrical drawings and supporting documents required for the manufacture and installation of control panels. He/she must ensure compliance with the various standards and regulations governing electrical design.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electrical Engineer has the following responsibilities:


  • Validate selected control components with the project manager (PLC model, industrial network, etc.);
  • Design of building electrical distributions
  • Calculation of short-circuit currents and arc-flash analysis
  • Validate project electrical specifications (country, supply voltage, frequency, etc.);
  • Calculate and document electrical loads, heat dissipation, etc.
  • Determine necessary electrical protection systems;
  • Ensure that the design complies with the various standards and regulations in force;
  • Create electrical drawings (distribution, control, layout, etc.) on See Electrical or other CAD software;
  • Sign and seal drawings;
  • Communicate with other team members, both internal and external;
  • Support customer commissioning team when necessary;
  • Perform on-site surveys when required.

QUALIFICATIONS

The position requires the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering, automated production engineering and a minimum of 5 years' experience;
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs - required for the position.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

The position requires the following requirements:
  • French and functional English ;
  • Knowledge of standards and regulations governing electrical design;
  • Knowledge of a minimum of CAD software for electrical design;
  • Must be a good collaborator and master in the art of teamwork;
  • Must be meticulous and rigorous;
  • Ability to manage several files at the same time and meet deadlines.
